I don’t know about you, but starting a big, complicated project can be overwhelming for me, because my detail-oriented brain sees all the many individual tasks and the myriad possible approaches. I need to start off by applying organization and structure to the project. That helps me see a few possible paths forward (instead of dozens), and make a considered decision about how to proceed.

Optimizing the training that you provide to your employees definitely qualifies as a big, complicated project. This is especially true if you are doing it without any support from someone with expertise in communication, information organization, and/or instructional design.
